Teaching courses in English methods is a complex undertaking that engages the rich and evolving field of English education. This site supports new and experienced faculty members as they take on the challenge of courses addressing the teaching of composition, literature, young adult literature, and reading. We also consider issues regarding practicums, internships and student teaching in the English language arts.
Our focus is on preparing teachers for public school language arts classrooms, especially at the secondary level, though elementary grades are also addressed. Our primary interest is teachers for students for whom English is their first language.
